Textile soundinsulation for our doctor’s waitingroom
Our students created a sound insulation for the doctor’s waiting room in
our school. At the beginning of the project the students did not have any idea
about the textile sculptures by Hike Turré. The teacher Mag. B. Nduefuna-Maier
gave an inspiring introduction and then the students started to create their
own sculptures.
The students worked in a relaxed atmosphere and their flow of creativity
was supported by the sound of music. The students created figures out of wire
which should show children with different injuries.
First of all the wire was bent and formed and the the students designed the
clothes. Used material was: wire grid, wood bars, egg cartons, linen, sugar,
etc. It took the student approximately six working hours to finish their piece
of arts. The had a lot of fun to decorate the patients’ waiting room in our
school.
