Polish most famous national artists



Fryderyk Chopin
1810 – 1849

Polish composer from the Romantic period. A brilliant, talented musician, who was born and grown up in Warsaw. He also completed there his musical education and composed many of his musical works. Deep expression and many stylistic patterns derived from Polish folk music are features of Chopin's creation, which is currently well known all over the world.




Jan Matejko

1838 – 1893

Polish painter known for paintings of notable historical Polish political and military events. His most famous works include oil on canvas paintings like Battle of Grunwald, numerous paintings of other battles, court scenes, and a gallery of Polish kings. He is counted among the most famous Polish painters.





         

             Stanisław Wyspiański
                                1869 – 1907
 
Polish playwright, painter and poet, as well as interior and furniture designer. A patriotic writer, he created a series of symbolic, national dramas within the artistic philosophy of the Young Poland Movement. Wyspiański was one of the most outstanding and multifaceted artists of his time in Poland under the foreign partitions. He successfully joined the trends of modernism with themes of the Polish folk tradition and Romantic history.
